DESCRIPTION
A cylinder head plug, often referred to as a freeze plug or expansion plug, is a small metal disc that is installed into the coolant jacket of the cylinder head. The main purpose of this plug is to seal off access holes used during manufacturing, preventing any coolant or oil from leaking out. In addition, these plugs also protect against cracking in extremely cold temperatures by expanding and pushing outwards if the coolant freezes. The QC002160 cylinder head plug is a specific part number used in certain truck models and should be replaced if it becomes corroded or damaged.
