DESCRIPTION
A piston snap ring is a small, circular piece of metal that fits into a groove in the piston of an engine. It is held in place by tension and prevents the piston from moving too far out of the cylinder during operation. The ME012966 part number refers to a specific type of piston snap ring used in certain models of trucks. Without a properly functioning piston snap ring, the piston could become dislodged and cause serious damage to the engine.
