DESCRIPTION
A piston is a cylindrical component that moves up and down within the engine cylinder. It is typically made of aluminum alloy and contains one or more piston rings, which help to seal the combustion chamber and prevent oil from leaking into it. The piston is connected to the connecting rod by a wrist pin, which allows it to move up and down as the crankshaft rotates. As fuel is ignited in the combustion chamber, the expanding gases push against the piston, causing it to move downward and transfer energy to the crankshaft.
