DESCRIPTION
A piston is a cylindrical component that moves up and down within the cylinder of an internal combustion engine. It is responsible for transferring the force generated by the expanding gases during combustion to the crankshaft via a connecting rod. The piston consists of a crown, skirt, and piston rings.
