DESCRIPTION
The Camshaft Position Sensor, also known as the CMP sensor, is a crucial component in the engine management system of a truck. It is responsible for monitoring the position and speed of the camshaft, which in turn provides information to the engine control module (ECM) about the timing of fuel injection and ignition. The sensor uses a magnet and Hall effect sensor to detect the rotation of the camshaft and convert it into an electrical signal that is sent to the ECM. A faulty CMP sensor can cause a variety of issues such as poor fuel economy, rough idling, and engine misfires. The MK667126 is a specific part number for this component used in certain models of trucks.
