DESCRIPTION
The Air Conditioning Compressor Clutch Assembly, also known as ME718117, is a vital component of a truck's air conditioning system. It is responsible for engaging and disengaging the compressor when the AC is turned on and off. The assembly includes a clutch plate, pulley, bearing, and coil. When the AC button is pressed, an electrical signal activates the coil to engage the clutch plate with the pulley. This causes the compressor to begin circulating refrigerant through the system to cool down the cabin of the truck. Without a functioning Air Conditioning Compressor Clutch Assembly, drivers would be left without relief from hot or humid weather while driving their trucks.
