DESCRIPTION
The Boost Pressure Sensor, also known as a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor, is a vital component in a truck's engine management system. It measures the pressure of the air entering the engine and sends this information to the truck's ECU (engine control unit) which then adjusts the fuel injection and ignition timing accordingly. The Boost Pressure Sensor is located on or near the intake manifold and is typically a small, cylindrical device with an electrical connector. A malfunctioning Boost Pressure Sensor can cause poor fuel economy, decreased performance, and even engine damage. The MX938448 is a specific part number for this sensor and should be replaced with an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) part for optimal performance.
