The Engine Inlet Air Pressure Sensor, also known as the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor, is a vital component of a commercial truck's engine management system. This sensor measures the pressure of the air entering the engine and sends this information to the engine control module. The engine control module then uses this information to adjust the fuel injection timing and air/fuel ratio, ensuring optimal engine performance and fuel efficiency. Without the Engine Inlet Air Pressure Sensor, the engine control module would not be able to accurately determine the correct amount of fuel to inject into the engine, resulting in poor fuel efficiency and decreased engine performance. In addition, a faulty sensor can cause the engine to run rough or stall, leading to potential safety hazards on the road.
