DESCRIPTION
The Manual Transmission Parking Gear, also known as the parking pawl, is a component of a manual transmission system that engages with the transmission output shaft to prevent the vehicle from rolling when parked. It is typically made of steel and is located inside the transmission housing. When the driver shifts the transmission into park, the parking gear engages with a notch on the output shaft to lock it in place. This prevents the vehicle from moving while parked on an incline or decline.
