DESCRIPTION
WIF, short for Water in Fuel sensor, is a component found in diesel engines that detects the presence of water or other contaminants in the fuel. It is installed between the fuel filter and the injection system and works by monitoring the electrical conductivity of the fuel. When water or other impurities are detected, a warning light on the dashboard is activated, alerting the driver to take action. If left unchecked, water in fuel can cause engine damage and decrease performance. The 3957158S part number refers to a specific model of WIF sensor used in certain types of trucks.
