DESCRIPTION
The flywheel assembly is a component of the engine that is responsible for storing rotational energy. It is mounted on the crankshaft and is used to smooth out the engine's power delivery. The flywheel assembly consists of a heavy metal disc that is bolted to the crankshaft and a ring gear that is used to engage the starter motor. When the engine is running, the flywheel assembly stores energy in its rotating mass, which helps to keep the engine running smoothly.
