DESCRIPTION
Spring Hood and Cable (part number 4117840C1) is a component of the hood latch system in commercial trucks. It consists of a spring-loaded mechanism that helps to keep the hood securely closed while the vehicle is in motion. The cable is attached to the hood release lever inside the cab and runs through the firewall to the latch mechanism under the hood. When the lever is pulled, the cable pulls on the latch mechanism, releasing the hood. The spring helps to keep the latch mechanism engaged when the hood is closed, preventing it from accidentally opening while driving.
