DESCRIPTION
The Air Brake Diaphragm, also known as part number 031025, is a component of the air brake system in trucks. It is responsible for creating the force necessary to activate the brake system by converting air pressure into mechanical force. The diaphragm consists of a flexible material that moves when air pressure is applied to it. This movement then activates other components within the brake system, such as the push rod and slack adjuster, causing the brakes to engage. A malfunctioning or worn diaphragm can result in diminished braking performance or complete failure of the braking system.
