1957 Ford Country Squire

The 1957 Ford Country Squire is a notable example of Ford’s fourth-generation wood-paneled station wagons. It was available with two engine options: a 292 cu in (4.8 L) Y-block V8 producing 212-245 horsepower and a more powerful 312 cu in (5.1 L) Y-block V8. Transmission choices included a 3-speed manual and a 3-speed Ford-O-Matic automatic, contributing to its smooth driving experience. The Country Squire features rear-wheel drive and is equipped with drum brakes. Its dimensions include a wheelbase of 115.5 inches and a weight range of 3,700-3,900 lbs. Unique to this model is its panoramic windshield, along with the option for power windows, which were considered luxurious at the time. The wood trim was redesigned to mimic a wood-bodied motorboat, enhancing its classic appeal. Ford produced a total of 27,690 units of the Country Squire in 1957.
