1965 Ford Custom

The 1965 Ford Custom served as the base trim level for Ford’s full-size cars that year, featuring significant updates and enhancements compared to its predecessor. It was available in both 2-door and 4-door sedan body styles. Under the hood, it offered a new 240 CID six-cylinder engine, replacing the older 223 CID engine, alongside optional V-8 choices like the 289 CID, 352 CID, and 390 CID. The vehicle incorporated a redesigned three-link rear suspension with coil springs, enhancing its ride quality. Interior innovations included a new instrument panel and two-way key access for valet parking. Exterior design elements featured chrome moldings on the windshield and rear windows, along with armrests on all doors. Unique to this year, the model included some rare special versions, such as the FBI-spec Custom 500 equipped with a potent 427 CID V-8 engine, showcasing its versatility for various applications.
