DESCRIPTION
The Doser Shutoff Assembly (part number 5294519) is a component found in diesel trucks equipped with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems. Its main function is to control the flow of diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) from the doser valve into the SCR catalyst. The assembly consists of a solenoid valve, a shutoff valve, and various sensors that monitor DEF pressure and temperature. When the engine's electronic control module (ECM) detects that DEF injection is no longer necessary, it sends a signal to the Doser Shutoff Assembly to close the valves and stop DEF flow. This helps prevent overuse of DEF and ensures efficient operation of the SCR system. Proper maintenance and replacement of this critical component are essential for optimal performance and emissions compliance in modern diesel trucks.
