DESCRIPTION
The Main Bearing 0.020 Oversize Shell, also known as part number AR12272, is a critical component of an engine's bottom end. It is a circular shell that fits between the crankshaft and the engine block, providing support to the crankshaft and reducing friction as it rotates. The oversize designation indicates that this bearing is slightly larger than stock size, which can be necessary when restoring an engine with worn or damaged components. Without properly functioning main bearings, the crankshaft would not be able to rotate smoothly and could cause severe damage to other parts of the engine.
