DESCRIPTION
A camshaft is a cylindrical rod with a series of lobes or cams that control the opening and closing of the engine's valves. It is responsible for regulating the timing and duration of valve opening, which determines how much air and fuel enter the combustion chamber. The camshaft rotates at half the speed of the crankshaft, driven by a timing belt or chain.
