DESCRIPTION
The Doser Injector is a component of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system in diesel engines. It is responsible for injecting Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) into the exhaust stream to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions. The Doser Injector receives commands from the engine's Electronic Control Module (ECM) and precisely meters the DEF into the exhaust stream at various operating conditions. It is typically located near the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and requires periodic maintenance to ensure it functions properly. A malfunctioning Doser Injector can cause increased emissions, reduced engine performance, and potential damage to other SCR components.
