DESCRIPTION
A cooling fan clutch, such as the ME015756, is a component of a truck's cooling system that regulates the speed of the engine's cooling fan. This is done by controlling the amount of fluid that flows through the clutch. When the engine is cool, the clutch engages and allows the fan to spin at full speed, which helps to cool down the engine quickly. As the engine warms up, however, the clutch disengages and slows down the fan, which reduces noise and saves fuel. A malfunctioning cooling fan clutch can cause overheating and other problems in a truck's engine.
